Four Mixed Use Commercial Buildings Sold in Brighton City Centre

Tuesday 8 June 2021

We are delighted to announce the sale of four mixed use buildings in Brighton City Centre.

The four properties were sold by way of separate transactions to a variety of individuals, which include limited companies and owner occupiers.

The sales include 6 New Road, 27 Duke Street, 15 New Road and 23 St James Street.

6 New Road is an attractive 5-storey period building which had formally traded as a restaurant and benefited from having a premises license. The property, which had been empty for 2 years, has now sold to private individuals.

27 Duke Street is a 5-storey mid-terraced building on one of Brighton’s most sought after shopping thoroughfares. The property has been sold to a locally based development company.

15 New Road is an attractive 3-storey period building with accommodation arranged over basement, ground, first and second floors. The property was offered with vacant possession and was sold to a wine and spirit retailer.

23 St James Street is a 4-storey mid-terraced former bank and sold to a locally based development company.

Director and lead retail agent, Will Thomas, commented, “Freehold opportunities such as these always generate a good deal of interest and I hope to be able to report news of some additional transactions in the next few weeks. These recent transactions just go to show the spectrum of buyers for these types of opportunities and how Brighton is still viewed as a robust city, despite the recent effects of the pandemic”.
