Pop Up Shop Launches at The Cascades Shopping Centre

On Wednesday 21st February the first Portsmouth Pop Up Shop launched during Portsmouth and South Coast Business Week, with local business Goly Natural.
Due to growing demand for business premises in Portsmouth, Flude have partnered up with the Portsmouth City Council and The Cascades to set up a Portsmouth Pop Up shop scheme. This scheme enables local entrepreneurs and small businesses to trade in a high street location without the commitment or cost of a longer-term lease.
Surveyor, Alice Masterman, commented, “The pop up shop concept isn’t new, but it is one of the first in Portsmouth and we are extremely grateful to be supported by the Council and the Cascades Shopping Centre. All three parties realised we had opportunities in the centre, the right model to be able to do it and an abundance of small businesses who want to trial out a store. Each business has to put forward a business plan and we allow them 6 weeks in the unit. If they are successful, we can start discussions about a longer lease elsewhere in the centre. We hope to see other landlords use this model in vacant shops and other small businesses use this opportunity to sell their goods and services.
